The Banshee from Darby O’Gill and the Little People
I'm very grateful I didn't see 'The Banshee from Darby O'Gill and the Little People' as a kid. I think I might have been scarred for life!
I imagine this was released long before age restriction ratings were nailed down so it would have been a case of judging it by the poster and taking your chances. I've just looked it up on Amazon and it's now rated 'U' for universal. Very weird.
If I was more fired up by shoot-em-ups and a fan of 1942, Banshee would be like manna from heaven. It's an awesome looking game that I've spent no more than 5 minutes playing.
Ha! Yes, DOGatLP (how's that for an acronym) was released 10 years before our current MPAA rating system in the US. Although, it's still a hard "G" 🙂
SEU actually came before SCHMUP from things like Shoot-'Em-Up Construction Kit which we commonly called SEUCK back in the day and was available on the C64, Amiga and Atari ST. It allowed you to make your own games. Many of us (me) all thought ourselves (me) the next big idea, then instead spent time playing games and never completed anything good.

People are actually apparently still fiddling with it.
