I love that you keep a typewriter handy to create disk labels. Surrounded by old and new technology that's still the most efficient and reliable way to do this neatly.

Call me a Luddite but sometimes the old technology just hits the nail on the head. I have the tabs pre-configured for the labels and just load the labels and go. I've even been known to use a fax recently which is a lot quicker than scanning and attaching to email.

Well whatever works for you – sometimes the old ways are the best. Every day I wish our farming practices would backtrack to the pre-industrial age, but that's another rant.

I suppose the difficulty with sending faxes these days would be finding a recipient who still owns one.

For a while I used one of those real fax to email phone lines. You could also use it to fax from your computer to a real fax. It worked out really well for all those suppliers who insisted on submitting invoices via fax and my huge office shared one between the whole department so everything got lost or binned before you got to it.

Remember those electronic word processors that came along to bridge the gap between typewriters and full computers? My mum had one of those for a while though it spent 99% of its life in the box. They seem to have been aimed at people who were scared off by proper computers and thought these would be simpler to get to grips with.
