This is still probably my favourite flight sim. I played this for years. I only ever played it with the joystick/keys combination and liked doing things like taking off from the carrier and flying immediately straight up then upside down over the carrier, slamming the breaks on, flipping back the right way up, arrestor hook down, and landing. I got really good at it. I'm not so good these days! I've emulated it earlier this year to get some video and didn't have any issues, but if you can do it on real hardware then that's better anyway.

And Hostages! Another of my favourite early Amiga games. I played it a lot. Looking forward to it. There was a sequel, but I didn't get into that as much.

Much like everyone loading up their Amigas with Compact Flash drives, there's quite a few optical drive emulators out there for various consoles. This year I picked up the GDEMU for the Dreamcast, which works great; with a 128GB SD card, I can have every Dreamcast game worth playing (and then some) immediately available; the same guy that developed the GDEMU has a similar device available for the Sega Saturn. For the original Playstation there's the PSIO device that works in a similar manner.

Would be nice to see a CD32 optical drive emulator one day….
