    A more Amiga-ey Strider. That seems to have been the design brief, though like you say, it takes its inspiration from a number of sources. It's missing something for me that's difficult to put my finger on. It all just seems a bit hollow and 'me-too-ish'.

    I gather the spesh ed came about based on feedback which said the original was too tough, much like the way Team 17 rehashed Project X.

    I think your dog-shaking technique was fine. I'm not sure why it wasn't working out. Interestingly the mutts were cut from the revised version.

    You select the 'mega' weapons by holding fire until the right one is highlighted and then let go.
