Beautifully intricate animation, it’s bursting with dystopian ambience, the sound effects are as meaty as you’d hope, and it stars everyone’s favourite psychotic mech, ED-209! Walker is a fantastic game in as far as it goes… the problem is, that’s not very far. Every level is more of the same so what’s delivered is an awesome *component* of a game, bordering on a highly evolved tech demo. It desperately needed to be what was initially planned; a multi-genre medley of platforming interspersed with shoot ’em up stages to break the homogeneity.

It’s a shame Walker 2 never materialised – that could have addressed all these issues to complete the package.
