Chalking up the original cost of Gary’s A500 mean machine

Recently Gary Hucker constructed the Amiga 500 of our schoolboy dreams. As John pointed out, it would have made absolutely no sense to pimp out the bottom of the range model with such premium kit rather than going down the tower route, but would that have held us back for a nanosecond if money were no object? A few of us were wondering exactly what the rig would have cost to assemble back then. Wonder no more!

All prices are taken from Amiga Computing issue 45 (February 1992). Don’t hang about – stocks won’t last forever!

Nice one dreamkatcha. That's around $2400 GBP in today's money after adjusting for inflation! Just shy of $3000 USD and around $4000 New Zealand Dollars!
