Not only can you play online, but the awesome folks over at sensiblesoccer.de have kept the "rosters" updated to this very day!

It really *did* manage to pull off some truly amazing feats. This is the footy game you'd play even if you didn't care about football, the theme-tune you *must* sing along to because it sweeps you away with its enthusiasm. I used to be pretty good at Sensi… which makes no sense at all. 😀

John, you mentioned average viewing times for your let's play videos. Keep in mind that some of us download them to watch when we're out and about so that will skew the results.

You mentioned dongles. I had one on the C64 for one of the Leaderboard games, and they are still used a lot in commercial applications, though they tend to be USB dongles these days.

Interesting! Have you used any of those commercial applications? A quick Google search didn't turn up much.

I have very fond memories of playing Leaderboard Golf on my Atari 1200XL 🙂

At my last job we used a lot of engineering software (mainly electrical calculation, earthing, Arc Flash, etc.), and had maybe 4 or 5 USB dongles plugged into servers and desktop PCs. They gave licences to the software for either stand-alone, or network use.
In the 90s, we had serial (or maybe it was parallel) port dongles for AutoCAD.
